In she, the universe – the infinity within her-liton kar invites us into a deeply personal and poetic journey through femininity, memory, and the metaphysical.
Through surreal yet grounded compositions, he explores the infinite strength, grace, and emotional depth that women embody-not as mere subjects, but as elemental forces of the cosmos.
This exhibition features 25 oil paintings on canvas, each sized 24 by 48 inches. Most of the works depict evocative female figures, portrayed not in confinement but as expansive energies-rooted in nature, memory, and dream. Working with oil, alongside elements of acrylic, charcoal, and sculpture, liton blends realism with a dreamlike intensity to reflect on identity, the subconscious, and the cosmos within.
At a time when global politics continues to impose boundaries, silence voices, and define narratives around women’s lives, this exhibition reclaims space for emotional truth, memory, and feminine power. She, the universe-the infinity within her is not just a visual experience-it is a meditation on resilience, creation, and the boundless potential that lives within every woman.
The exhibition will be held from 18 to 26 july 2025 at la galerie, alliance française de dhaka, organised by alliance française de dhaka, wind stories, and supported by citybank-cityalo, a women-centric brand dedicated to empowering women in
bangladesh. it will remain open to all visitors daily from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
As part of the exhibition, liton kar’s international award-winning short film
icu (i see you) will be screened every 18 & 26 july at 6:00 p.m.
The exhibition will also feature an artist talk and a cultural evening, highlighted by a special musical performance by post office society. This segment is designed to foster deeper engagement and collective reflection on the themes explored in the exhibition.
